About Us

The Victor Chang Institute is establishing a NSW Government sponsored Cardiovascular Research Innovation Centre that will drive transformative collaborative cardiovascular research within New South Wales. The new Centre will allow cardiovascular researchers from across the State to access cutting-edge technologies and to foster collaborations with clinical researchers and technological experts.

The Role

The Manager will work with the Centre's Director Professor Roland Stocker and Deputy Director Professor Sally Dunwoodie to establish, develop and promote the Centre. The Manager will be responsible for setting up the new facility, the day-to-day management of the Centre and the identification and implementation of new opportunities for research collaborations to maximise the internal and external use of the Centre.

Responsibilities

The Manager will be responsible for:

• Procurement of equipment
• Equipment installation
• Staff recruitment and management
• Establishment and implementation of a financial management plan for the Centre
• Promoting the centre to enable its use through state wide collaborations

Skills Required

• Postgraduate qualification in science
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in facility management with a focus on operational and financial efficiency
• Experience in the negotiation and implementation of collaborative research agreements
• A proven track record of involvement in equipment or related grants is desirable
• Previous experience managing and developing staff will be highly regarded

Salary  

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience with salary packaging and superannuation options also available.
