Construction of the new Cockburn GP Super Clinic has commenced after Federal Minister for Health and Ageing Nicola Roxon and Member for Fremantle Melissa Parke turned the first sod.

The clinic will form the centerpiece of the Cockburn Integrated Health and Community Facility, which will provide multidisciplinary, patient centred health services for the area.

Construction is due to be completed in 2013, and will provide GP services, nursing, physiotherapy, psychological counseling, dietician services, exercises physiology and will employ a specialist Aboriginal Health Worker.

The clinic is the result of a partnership between the Commonwealth Government which has contributed $6.65 million, the Cockburn City Council, which has contributed the land for the project, and the Fremantle GP Network.
