The Federal Government has announced $305,000 in recurrent funding for aged places in Gulgon, central NSW, that will aim to ‘meet the needs of the local ageing population by providing high level residential care’.

The proposed Multi-Purpose Service will form part of the HealthOne facility being constructed on the old Gulgong Hospital site.

Minister for Health and Ageing Nicola Roxon said a Multi-Purpose Service was the best service model to meet Gulgong’s health care needs.

“A Multi-Purpose Service will allow health and aged care services to be delivered locally, to be accessible, responsive and cost efficient. The proposed MPS would provide a single point of contact for the community to access all health services,” Minister Roxon said.
