The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is accountable to the Chief Executive of the Department for Health and Ageing, in the governance and management of Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and for ensuring an effective contribution by CALHN to the SA public health system. The Chief Executive Officer's responsibilities include the prudential and sustainable financial management of CALHN, ensuring appropriate budget processes and controls are implemented to meet its allocated budget, and the effective local planning, systems and processes for clinical governance are implemented and maintained. The CEO will provide the effective overall management of CALHN including the effective management of employees, and a safe system of work for staff of SA Health for which the CEO has delegated responsibility. Additionally, the CEO will work closely with the Chair of the Governing council to support the Council in fulfilling its functions.
