To perform laboratory duties and assist in establishing an Australian Sjogren’s syndrome biobank to facilitate biomarker and genetic research in primary Sjogren’s Syndrome (pSS).
The Grant Funded Scientist will assist research programs in the Department of Rheumatology, and work with other researchers and students in the Department. The incumbent will perform specialised laboratory duties such as tissue culture, extraction of live cells from human tissue and DNA /RNA extraction from blood samples, therefore experience in tissue culture is essential. In particular the incumbent will work on the Sjogren’s project which seeks to gain insights into the pathogenesis of the disease and its’ associated malignancies, in order to formulate therapeutic strategies such as specific immune modulation.
An appropriate degree level qualification e.g. biological sciences.
