The Tropical Australian Academic Health Centre (TAAHC) is looking for candidates of suitable experience and qualifications to design and deliver training to build the capability and capacity of healthcare professionals to undertake, participate in, apply and evaluate research related to their practice. This includes training to enhance knowledge and application of qualitative and quantitative research concepts and methodologies and evidence-based practice.

TAAHC is a health research collaborationbetween the five hospital and health services (HHSs) in northern Queensland (Cairns and Hinterland, Mackay, North West, Torres and Cape and Townsville), the Northern Queensland Primary Health Network and James Cook University, including the Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine. Through an emphasis on translational research, TAAHC aims to embed research into health service delivery to improve quality and efficiency of care, enhance recruitment and retention of professionals in the region and encourage greater investment in the north.

With flexible working hours and the ability to work in in one of our stunning locations across northern Queensland, this part-time position (0.5FTE) is a significant opportunity to join a fast-growing, translation orientated organization and contribute to the development of the learning health system in northern Queensland.
