MS Australia is looking for a motivated candidate to become our Clinical Platform Coordinator to establish and maintain our National Clinical Trials Platform. 

MS Australia is Australia’s national multiple sclerosis (MS) not-for-profit organisation that empowers researchers to identify ways to treat, prevent and seek to cure MS, seeks sustained and systemic policy change via advocacy, and acts as the champion for Australia’s community of people affected by MS.

We are the largest Australian not-for-profit organisation dedicated to funding, coordinating, educating, and advocating for MS research as part of the worldwide effort to solve MS.

The Clinical Platform Coordinator coordinates MS Australia’s emerging clinical platforms, specifically the Adaptive Clinical Trial platform. This role supports the expansion of MS clinical trials in Australia, including adaptive clinical trials, traditional clinical trials, telehealth trials and expanding the number of clinical trial sites in Australia.

The Clinical Platform Coordinator will oversee the development and implementation of the adaptive clinical trial platform to ensure cohesion between this platform and interaction with other workstreams. This role will also develop and coordinate the emerging platforms in the clinical social and applied space, including cognition, fatigue, mental health and pain. 

The Clinical Platform Coordinator is responsible for providing a coordinating function for these collaborative national research platforms as assigned. This will include stakeholder engagement, relationship management, organisation of meetings and workshops (both virtual and in-person), coordination of shared research activities, tracking of progress and reporting to the funding body for each platform where relevant.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills to form and support collaborative efforts amongst researchers across multiple centres, including internationally, and to communicate progress within research networks
  • Have experience in clinical trials, ethics submissions, and/or REDCap database management
  • Have excellent project management and high-level administrative experience
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have excellent database, data management and data reporting skills
  • Hold a biomedical, science, health science or closely related postgraduate degree
  • Have initiative and an innovative approach
  • Be adaptable, able to work independently and also as part of a small team
