Clinic Transport Communications Officer

We are seeking a Clinic Transport Communications Officer to provide effective and efficient coordination of our Clinic Transport Services within our Operational Communication Department. This is a Full Time, 2-year Fixed Term position based in Burwood East. 

About the role 

Reporting to the Lead Communications Clinic Transport, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Facilitate the dispatch and coordination of Clinic Transport Services resources (including car, bus, wheelchair hoists and more) to best service the community in a timely manner
  • Maintaining regular contact, via radio and CAD and in accordance with AV guidelines with all Clinic Transport Officers, Paramedics and contractors working on Clinic Transport Services
  • Receive and effectively process various forms of requests for transport of patients including phone and email, processing efficiently using available software, tools, and resources
  • Contacting patients, hospitals, medical and care facilities etc on a regular basis to ensure accurate and up to date patient details and booking information
    • Identify and report issues of over or under response to Clinic Transport Service events
    • Maintain and build positive engagement experiences with community and other stakeholders 

About you 

To be considered for this position you will have a Certificate III Non-Emergency Patient Transport or equivalent with preferred relevant experience in health/medical environment such as ambulance or nursing. Candidates will also require: 

  • Experience using CAD/radio/telephone products and/or working in a Communications Centre
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team to maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and resource availability to ensure service delivery meets organisational and external requirements
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite of products and familiarisation with computer technology
