Specialist Resources Coordinator

About the role

Reporting to the Manager Emergency Management this role is responsible for coordinating with AV departments the supply of equipment, personnel and other resources to emergencies, public events and other exercises such as training. This is a permanent, full time position based at 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Plan, manage and execute Specialist Resources projects, according to time, budget, compliance and quality objectives and deadlines
  • Manage maintenance & operational readiness of specialist resources for which the Emergency Management Unit is the responsible user, including resources associated with (not limited to) incident management, health command, public events, communications and information technology
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to proactively improve logistical and specialist resource processes that support public event management and emergency management operations
  • Prepare and review various reports and documentation including project management plans, briefing notes, business case submissions, activity reports and trend analysis
  • Manage the continuous improvement of the event and incident notification and management processes, recommending and implementing solutions as required
  • Where directed, undertake the role of Logistics Functional Lead within the Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre for emergencies and escalations of the Ambulance Victoria Emergency Response Plan

About you

The successful candidate will have a solid knowledge of and experience in ambulance, emergency services, health or allied service delivery operations that may be supported by a relevant tertiary qualification. Desirable qualifications include Emergency Management and Australasian Interagency Incident Management System.

Other requirements include:

  • Demonstrated experience in emergency incident and event management
  • Experience in logistics management including service scheduling and maintenance program management and experience with personal protective equipment
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills with proven ability to anticipate, influence and respond
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders during an emergency situation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and relevant software applications
  • Required to be available outside of ordinary working hours to provide advice, support or authoritative direction to other employees or managers involved in dealing with emergency or time critical incidents or issues (Commuted Availability Allowance 1)
  • Required to possess a current Victorian Driver Licence
