Senior Lead Cyber Security Systems

We are seeking a Senior Lead Cyber Security Systems to provide the NIST functions to Detect, Identify, Protect, Respond and Recover from any potential or real Cyber threats in the Information & Cyber Security team, Digital and Technology Services department.   This role will provide strategic and authoritative advice on all aspects related to Cyber Security Operational capabilities to maintain and continuously improve Cyber Security controls to keep Ambulance Victoria, its staff, patients, systems, and information secure.  

This is a full time, permanent position based in our Blackburn North office, with hybrid working arrangements available.  The successful application may be expected to participate in the rotating security incident response roster.   

About the role 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Information & Cyber Security, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Management of the Cyber Operations team, ensuring effective analysis and assessment of Cyber Security advisories, alerts, and event detections
  • Supports Information Security Operations budgets, financial management, resource planning, and identifies opportunities for savings and efficiencies
  • Supports development of Information Security Operational Strategy including Strategy Management, Service Portfolio Management and Business Relationship Management
  • Actively leads incident response activities with key focus to keep Ambulance Victoria protected while ensuring minimal operational impact
  • Build strong working relationships with staff and senior management across all areas of the organisation 

About you 

As a passionate Cyber Security professional and natural leader, you work collaboratively with your team and stakeholders across the organisation and have a deep knowledge of Information Technology including networks, infrastructure, cloud, and applications.  Further to this, to be considered for this position you will possess:

  • Postgraduate degree or relevant industry certification with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and high-level relevant Cyber Security experience (preferably in an Information Technology related discipline focussed on Cyber Security)
  • Significant experience in leading Operational Cyber Security Teams, and experience in monitoring, detecting, and responding to incidents and threats
  • Familiarity with Privacy Principals and Cyber Security frameworks including ACSC E8, ISM, CIS, NIST, Department of Health 32 Cyber controls, ISO27001, VPDSF or others
  • Experience in a large or complex organisation in the areas of incident response, security operations, security compliance, security auditing, security and privacy risk assessment, and vulnerability mitigation and remediation with capability to lead any of these activities across the division
  • Experience with and working knowledge of IDS/IPS, DNS, VPN, SIEM, Firewalls, Network Security, Data Loss Prevention, Whitelisting, Encryption, PKI, Advanced End Point Protection, Cloud Access Security Brokers/Cloud filtering tools, vulnerability management, PIM/PAM, DLP and other common Security tools

This position is graded at AV6 under the Ambulance Victoria (Management and Administrative Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2021.
