We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Allied Health academic researcher to a conjoint appointment at Professor (Level E) or Associate Professor (Level D) between the Faculty of Health Sciences, the University of Sydney and South Western Sydney Local Health District.

South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) has a renowned reputation for excellence in the provision of health care services, with strong leadership roles in research, education and in the provision of high quality tertiary and quaternary clinical services, health promotion and the high quality provision of health care to its local community. The SWSLHD hosts world leading biomedical, clinical, health services and public health research and has a strong partnership with various external organisations.

This conjoint professorial position is a component of the strategic partnership between the FHS and SWSLHD. The partnership is committed to enhancing the health of people in the South Western Sydney area through patient-centred care that is grounded in scientific evidence, sharing knowledge and skills, and preparing work-ready allied health professionals. As professor, you will be focused on contributing to the evidence base about effective community-based allied health services and will work closely with SWSLHD allied health staff to build research capability and lead and integrate research from the FHS into SWSLHD.

You will be co-located at the University of Sydney and South Western Sydney Local Health District and be responsible to the Dean (FHS), University of Sydney, and to the Director Allied Health (SWSLHD).

You will work alongside a passionate team of clinicians and researchers in the various allied health disciplines and pursue a research program, as well as teach in your relevant field, supervise postgraduate research students and contribute to the discipline’s academic programs.

Term

The successful applicant will be offered a fixed term appointment for a minimum of five years as Professor/Associate Professor of Allied Health. A competitive salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
