About the opportunity 

Reporting to Dr. Daniel Brown, The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work at The Brain and Mind Centre to provide deep scientific and technical knowledge, and apply this to the key research area of Meniere’s Disease. Primarily, this research role will investigate the molecular changes in the inner ear of patients with Meniere’s disease, and in animal models of the disease. They will develop their own research focused on Meniere’s, whilst collaborating with academics and research professionals within the field, particularly in the Meniere’s research team. This includes actively leading and contributing to research activities, designing research protocols, undertaking critical aspects of research work including formation of analysis and key findings. Collates and records research data, draws insights and analyses, reports information from the research undertaken, and may work with the Chief Investigator and/or Senior Academics to source grant funding. When working in a laboratory, may also include oversight and responsibility for any lab work carried out by researchers, students and provides teaching support where needed.

• PhD in Medical Sciences
• experience performing Immunohistochemistry Techniques
• previous experience in independent research and project management
• extensive experience conducting data analysis, preparing reports and publications
• A thorough understanding of ethics guidelines, standards and WHS requirements.
