About the opportunity

The Institute of Bone and Joint Research (IBJR) provides the very best facilities for scientists and clinicians, enabling them to unravel the complexities of the musculoskeletal system and improve the quality of life

and burden of bone and joint disorders, which represent today's most common form of suffering. The IBJR is developing the Australian Arthritis and Autoimmune Biobank Collaborative (A3BC) as an extension of its research vision.

The A3BC is an exciting, ground-breaking new project promising a national network of sophisticated biobanks and related database and analytics capabilities. The ultimate goal of the A3BC is to help people living with arthritis and autoimmune disease - over 6 million men, women and children across Australia - to understand the answers to important questions such as: What caused my disease? What is my future? What is the best treatment for me? What is the cure? The A3BC will answer these questions by combining research into the biological causes and clinical consequences of these diseases, with a broad range of patient and population health datasets, to generate innovative discoveries for improved diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
