About the opportunity
The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) is a fully externally funded research centre. It runs large multi-centre investigator-initiated clinical trials with national and international collaborators, and contributes expertise and infrastructure for trials run by others. It undertakes research aiming at improving both the conduct of trials and the resulting clinical evidence.
Reporting to the Business Director, as a Medical Writer you will work under broad guidance and exercise independent judgement in the design and performance of writing activities and tasks, mentoring academics and trials staff in writing high level grants and journal articles and other publications, drawing from your previous experience in this field to successfully deliver on key accountabilities.

The NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre (CTC) participates in translational research from bench to bedside, conducts methodological research in relation to clinical trials, reviews and synthesises evidence from completed trials and is at the forefront of developments in methods, such as prospective meta-analysis, supervises postgraduate students in all of these areas, offers postgraduate degrees in clinical trials research, runs short courses to train people for Australian medical research, and undertakes health technology and diagnostic test assessments, economic analyses, bio-statistical design and analysis, and automated central randomization services.
