The Work Integrated Learning portfolio is a key strategy in realizing this vision. It comprises a unique interdisciplinary team of academic staff and administrators who work with the disciplines of Medical Radiation Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Exercise and Sports Science, Rehabilitation Counselling and Physiotherapy. Clinical education is a core part of each professional curriculum and the work integrated learning team collaborate with the disciplines to ensure work integrated learning is well-integrated into the curriculum of students’ professional degrees. The portfolio has a strong reputation for establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with service providers to develop and support innovative placements that deliver positive outcomes for students, service recipients and organizations. Key areas of educational focus include delivering high quality and research informed education, ensuring placement quality, increasing the number and types of clinical and preclinical experiences and developing rich partnerships with a range of service providers. The academic team are research engaged in a wide range of health professional education and cross-disciplinary areas.

The Associate Professor or Professor will provide ongoing leadership in the Work Integrated Learning Portfolio, including serving a term as Associate Dean, Work Integrated Learning. The Associate Dean, Work Integrated Learning will set the direction and shape the work integrated learning streams within the professional curricula and effectively engage with future employers to establish mutually beneficial partnerships. A substantial component of the position will be to build on the scholarly work in this area thus maintaining the faculty’s position as a leader in health professional education research. As Associate Professor or Professor, you will also play a role in securing grants and in managing the research and scholarly contribution of the academic team.

The Faculty of Health Sciences is in a period of change, with our Faculty moving from Lidcombe to Camperdown Campus as well as undergoing restructure to join the broader Faculty of Medicine and Health following our move.

Term and remuneration

The successful applicant will be offered a full-time continuing position, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation and confirmation period for new appointees, with an attractive remuneration package. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
