About the opportunity 

Reporting to Professor Elizabeth Elliott and Dr Tracey Tsang, the successful applicant will take responsibility nad participate in the following projects:

-        Cross-sectional study of mental health, health, social, and wellbeing outcomes in predominantly Aboriginal youth in very remote communities in Fitzroy Valley, WA

-        National dissemination and evaluation of the Australian Guide to the Diagnosis of FASD and e-Learning Modules

-        Development and implementation of a software application which can semi-automatically detect and visualise classified human phenotype ontology terms on faces

About you

  • a PhD or equivalent relevant postgraduate research qualification
  • a strong record of research and scholarly activities, team work and collaboration
  • experience in scientific writing with good publication record
  • experience in data analysis, use of databases and use of statistical software
  • experience with supervision of research staff
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • skills in the use of EndNote.

About us

A Centre of Research Excellence was established in 2016 between Telethon Kids Institute and The University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Health, to conduct research into Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). The CRE aims to address the diagnosis and prevention of FASD and support of affected children and their families. The team consists of paediatricians, allied health professionals and researchers, in collaboration with community members including NOFASD and other stakeholders.
