About the opportunity 

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Research Officer to provide overall project coordination, high level administration and guidance to support implementation of key strategies and programs of StepUp for Dementia Research, a dementia research participation and public engagement platform: StepUp For Dementia Research. This includes coordinating and driving the overall implementation, research and evaluation, reporting, financing and governance and stakeholder engagement of StepUp.

Working collaboratively with the Principal Investigator, the Senior Research Officer is responsible for:

  • developing and implementing project plans to ensure milestones and deliverables are realised
  • managing project governance and reporting
  • managing stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and team work, and communications
  • providing training and support to researchers who use the StepUp service
  • contributing to data analysis and analytics to support service improvement.

  • tertiary qualifications (Masters degree or higher) and extensive relevant work experience in project management and managing complex projects. Experience within a research/health service related projects would be highly advantageous
  • experience managing multiple work streams or leading large complex projects with diverse stakeholder groups and working according to strict deadlines
  • sound understanding of project management competencies including scope, time, cost, quality, HR, communications, cost, risk, procurement and integration
  • skills in governance development
  • experience using project management programs and templates
  • experience managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure for a project
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills in dealing with a variety of matters
