• Deliver and develop the academic program of the Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) and electives in the Master of Medicine suite of degrees in the prestigious Brain and Mind Centre     
• Expertise (level D) or interest in developing expertise (level C) in research in mental health, medical education  and workforce development
• Contribute to the education of our psychiatrist workforce
• Part-time (0.4FTE) continuing; remuneration package: up to $182K p.a. pro rata which includes base salary, leave loading and up to 17% super; a clinical loading will also be paid where eligible

About the opportunity 

We are seeking to appoint a qualified psychiatrist to course coordination role to oversee all aspects of the Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) including curriculum development, delivery and accreditation with relevant professional bodies, and ensuring a high-quality student experience.  You will operate in a complex clinical and academic environment and will need to demonstrate influencing and negotiation skills on a day-to-day basis.  Appointment at the higher level (Level D Associate Professor) will also require leadership in research along with teaching and administration and input into psychiatry clinical or education delivery across NSW and or Australia

• registration as a medical practitioner in Australia and a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and extensive experience as a consultant psychiatrist
• subspecialty experience in psychiatry for example addiction medicine, old age psychiatry, youth mental health, child and adolescent psychiatry, mood disorders and or body-mind medicine etc
• considerable experience in teaching and learning activities in a university or similar environment; experience in the development of postgraduate education and training courses
• experience of fostering collaborative relations with internal and external stakeholders
• superior interpersonal, communication, team building and leadership skills to work effectively, in a dynamic, cross-disciplinary environment
• ability to plan, implement, evaluate and continually improve service range and quality
• highly developed organisational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage time effectively
• a Doctor of Philosophy and experience with research supervision of higher degrees as well as current and future research activities for the Level D position.

Desirable:

• experience with educational or training program accreditation
• experience in a biomedical or mental health or education research environment
• capacity to deliver the stage 1 and or stage 2 RANZCP syllabus
• experience with securing education grants.
