About the opportunity 

We are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and in order to deliver on the University’s ambitious strategic plan, we are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Skills Educator to join the School of Rural Health based at Dubbo.

The Clinical Skills Educator performs day to day tasks associated with planning, coordinating, facilitating, and delivering clinical skills teaching sessions to meet the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program and the Sydney Medical School Stage 3 Program, in regional and rural NSW, consistent with the Sydney Medical Program curriculum requirements. This position will assist with medical student assessments and examinations; deliver practical skills training; and undertake relevant administrative and other duties.

This position is located at Dubbo Campus. Relocation assistance may be provided to the successful candidate if required.

Limited travel between campuses is a requirement of this position along with some out of hours work.

• tertiary qualification in Nursing with current AHPRA registration and appropriate clinical experience.
• certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training and/or Preceptor Course and/or equivalent experience
• post-basic qualifications relevant to education and/or demonstration of skills in clinical teaching and experience in education programs
• demonstrated knowledge and understanding of clinical procedures
• demonstrated experience working both independently and in a team environment
• knowledge of and experience with inter-professional education and clinical training methods in health profession education
• experience in the development of practical teaching programs
• demonstrated understanding of the issues surrounding the adoption of new learning technologies in medical education
• current Drivers Licence.
