About the opportunity 

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to undertake high-quality research using primary human cell models to understand how mutations in the proteins glucocerebrosidase (GBA) and leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) underlie biological dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease. The Forefront Ageing and Neurodegeneration group is located at the Brain and Mind Centre at the University of Sydney and is a large dynamic team undertaking research from bench to bedside across a broad range of neurodegenerative diseases. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our internationally recognised research team and launch their academic career. 

About you

  • PhD with demonstrated research outputs in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or similar.
  • familiarity with and a passion to work on neurodegenerative diseases.
  • ability to conduct independent, methodologically rigorous research that contributes to theoretical concepts and clinical translation
