Applicants with expertise in any area of practice in Diagnostic Radiography will be considered. There will be opportunities to contribute to ongoing curriculum development ensuring that our programs produce future leaders in medical radiation sciences, health care, health research, and health education. This is a stimulating position that offers the opportunity to be involved in cross-disciplinary research within the Faculty of Health Sciences, throughout the University of Sydney, and with international partners. The Discipline enjoys access to state-of-the-art imaging facilities for teaching and research purposes.  Note that the faculty will be joining the Faculty of Medicine and Health in 2020.

In this role you will:

• teach into undergraduate and postgraduate courses in medical imaging, including instrumentation and research methodologies and take on responsibility for unit of study coordination and contribute to curriculum development
• pursue a research program that aligns with the Faculty Research Strengths, including grant acquisition, and peer-reviewed publications
• recruit and supervise honours and postgraduate research students
• contribute to the Faculty’s academic program of innovation in education and excellence in governance
• contribute to administrative aspects of teaching, research and community engagement.
• have opportunities to engage with the speech pathology profession and the public and collaborate with our clinical partners in research, teaching and/or clinical education
• work as an effective team member, and as required team leader, in teaching, research and community engagement
• If appointed as a Level C you will be expected to provide leadership in one or more areas of the curriculum.

We are currently located at Lidcombe in Western Sydney but anticipate moving to the Camperdown campus in early 2021. Teaching is currently conducted on both campuses and until the move you will be expected to work on both campuses from time to time.

About you

• a PhD in a field relevant to medical imaging
• clinical expertise in any area of diagnostic radiography
• a record of journal publications for appointment at Level B; an established publication record in high impact journals and demonstrated capacity for research grant acquisition for appointment at Level C
• experience in research-informed teaching of medical imaging at the tertiary level
• experience with research student supervision (desirable at Level B; essential at Level C)
• experience in curriculum development and unit of study coordination (desirable at Level B; essential at Level C)
• excellent English language communication skills
• eligibility for registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
• demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a range of roles in diverse teams.
