About the opportunity 

We are looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Simulation Assistant to provide clinical, technical and administrative support in the simulation environment including equipment preparation and recycling, general repair and maintenance of clinical simulation equipment and stock. You will be responsible in carrying out routine tests and preparing the simulation environment for practical classes including the setting up of scenarios.

You will ensure that the relevant Work, Health and Safety standards of the simulation environment are met and are aligned to the University’s WHS policy.

In an increasingly competitive and financially demanding environment the incumbent must be flexible in their approach to activities and be prepared to operate in an environment typified by ongoing change. This seasonal position works over 37 weeks of the year (linked to the academic teaching calendar) and leave restrictions may apply at peak workload periods during semester. The incumbent may be required to work across both the Camperdown and Westmead campuses.

• Diploma or Certificate IV with relevant work experience or Certificate III with extensive relevant work experience
• previous experience working within a medical clinical learning environment
• sound working knowledge and acute awareness of safety regulations and operating procedures within the simulation environment with well-rounded experience in implementing safety procedures relevant to the clinical simulation environment
• previous training in clinical simulation and experience working within clinical simulation environment will be highly regarded

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with proven ability to apply theoretical knowledge and techniques to meet the key accountabilities.
