NSW Ambulance is currently seeking highly organised individuals with outstanding communication skills for upcoming Communications Assistant vacancies based within our emergency response call centres across multiple locations in Sydney (Eveleigh),Charlestown, Dubbo and Warilla.

The Role
Communications Assistants receive record and quickly progress emergency phone calls made to Triple Zero (000) while providing first aid advice over the phone and reassurance to distressed members of the community.
They are the first contact for callers in emergency situations and must be able to handle stressful situations with maturity, empathy, calmness and accountability.

Salary and Benefits
•The salary package range for the Trainee Communications Assistant is $59,834 - $68,808. This includes 9.5% employers contribution to superannuation and shift allowances. In addition, you will also receive:

Please be advised Control Centre positions are not a stepping stone to Paramedic positions. They require different skills sets and have two separate recruitment pathways.
Applicants who are successful in gaining employment as a Communications Assistant must complete Control Centre Assistant training and mentoring followed by 6 months independent practice as a 000 emergency call taker before being eligible to apply for or transfer to other positions within NSW Ambulance.
