As part of the Specialist Older Persons Mental Health Service this role provides community-based intervention and consultation for older people who have mental health problems, or who may be at high risk of developing mental health problems. This service also provides intervention and consultation for Residential Aged Care Facilities.

  1. Recognized and accredited tertiary qualification and registration with the relevant board or eligibility for membership of the relevant association, in one of the following disciplines: social work, psychology, occupational therapy or nursing.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the provision of mental services in a community setting.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the specialist field of psychogeriatric including dementias and the Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia.
  4. Demonstrated clinical problem-solving skills, current clinical knowledge, the ability to work with complex presentations and as an independent clinician
  5. Knowledge of aged care services available both in NSW and Queensland as this role may have some cross border interactions.
  6. Computer literacy in Outlook, word processing and Electronic Medical Records.
  7. Understanding of WHS & Risk Management, Continuous Quality Improvement principles and ethical practices.
  8. Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
