ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Immunisation Nurse with Moreland City Council, you will be expected to provide a safe and effective immunisation service in accordance with the National Immunisation Program to residents, school students and employees within the Moreland City Council Municipality on a casual basis.  In performing this role you will have the availability to work daytime and evening immunisation sessions. During these sessions, you will use your strong people skills to educate, influence and respond to challenging questions and scenarios to ensure that vaccination occurs in best practice and in a compliant manner.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

  • Previous experience or exposure to mass immunisation settings, particularly within local government and knowledge of Local Government immunisation procedures and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine the suitability of clients for receiving vaccination
  • Proactive team member that will actively contribute on ideas to improve the program
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)     
  • Registered Nurse Division 1, Immunisation Accredited
  • Australian Nursing Federation (ANF) Membership
  • Current knowledge of the National Immunisation Program (NIP) Schedule.
  • Strong people management

It is a requirement of this role that you have an valid current drivers licence, CPR & anaphylaxis management certificate,  national police check and Working with Children’s check. Moreland City Council will assist in obtaining a National Police check and up to date Working with Children’s check if required.
