Position Summary

We are seeking qualified Emergency Medicine Staff Specialists who enjoy practising Emergency Medicine in an environment with a high consultant clinical involvement and procedural workload. Positions are available across our three main emergency departments in the cities of Wollongong, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven. Our departments see a combined total of nearly 150,000 patients per year. We have access to most specialities within our region, including general, trauma and sub-speciality surgery, general and sub-speciality medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and mental health.

Current permanent and temporary vacancies exist until 29 July 2018 at Wollongong, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven Hospitals as part of District Emergency Services, with the possibilty of an extension.

Salary: $223,253 - $301,622 per annum. 25% ED Physician Allowance may apply.

You will work 4 x 10hour shifts as a full-time worker and enjoy a good mix of acuity, pathology and paediatrics.

The ISLHD Emergency Departments are accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) for a total of 24 months of advanced emergency registrar training. Further opportunities for teaching include medical students from the local University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine through to the ACEM Emergency Medicine Certificate and Diploma. We also offer simulation, research and service development opportunities via these resources.
