Specialist - Environmental Health Services

Remuneration: Salary range from $72,334 to $75,483 per annum plus 13% super

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to provide specialist advice on complex environmental health matters with a focus on continuous improvement to provide a high standard of public health , community amenity, safety and customer service, and to relieve in the position of Coordinator Environmental Health Services when required.

Key responsibilities will also include:
* Contract management issues including swimming pool management agreements.
* Progress the master planning for all cemeteries within the Region administered by Council.
* Implementation of a database for food safety programs.

What we are looking for?

The successful applicant will have a diploma or tertiary qualification in Environmental Health ( or equivalent field) and a minimum of 5 years experience in an environmental health, local laws or similar regulatory services environment. They will be able to demonstrate an ability to lead teams and build and maintain working relationships through effective communication. The ability to focus on continuous improvement in a team environment will be a requirement as well as a knowledge of contemporary practice and legislation relevant to environmental health. A formal qualification in management or business administration, and previous experience in implementing and fostering a customer service culture will be highly regarded. Possession of a current approval with QLD Health as an auditor under the Food Act 2006 would be desirable, as would a knowledge of contemporary procurement procedures.
