Ballarat Health Services is currently seeking a senior manager to be at the forefront of championing the organisation's ongoing commitment to the health and wellbeing of their workforce by leading a small team of safety professionals.

Critical to your success in this role, will be your ability to encourage and reinforce a culture of safety awareness by building relationships with pivotal stakeholders.

Working collaboratively with the Executive and Management teams across the organisation you will:

  • Provide strategic advice in the application of Health and Safety Performance improvement, Workers Compensation and Injury Management and Legal and Regulatory compliance
  • Minimise risk through the maintenance and development of a range of interventions including education and awareness programs
  • Continuing to build on the current early intervention strategy and associated programs to achieve the desired reduction in musculoskeletal and psychological injuries
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategies and programs which will improve and build on a positive health and safety culture

In addition to being a driven professional you will possess;

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Occupational Health and Safety related discipline.
  • Preferably three years experience in a Senior Occupational Health and Safety Management position of a large or multi-faceted organisation.
  • An ability to communicate clearly at all levels and generate a high degree of credibility and confidence.
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual, strategic planning and leadership skills.
  • An ability to lead, effect and implement significant change projects and concepts.
  • An ability to plan, organise and follow through on major projects, and Key Performance Indicators outlined in the position description/ responsibilities.
  • Ability to undertake and evaluate system audits and training programs.
  • An awareness of current occupational health and safety management/general management practices including; the philosophy and concepts of benchmarking and best practice.
