Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you'll be doing
 
This position is a key technical position in the Epidemiology and Health Analytics department, Research and Education Network (REN) in Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD), which will provide high level support through high quality, timely, accessible and relevant information, advice and research capacity about the occurrence and trends of disease, injury, health status, risk behaviours and social determinants of health in Western Sydney LHD to staff District-wide and relevant personnel outside of WSLHD.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Tertiary level qualifications in Public Health, Epidemiology or related field and/or extensive epidemiology and research experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to conduct high quality health related qualitative and/or quantitative research in a range of health related fields and produce high quality reports.
  3. Demonstrated experience to analyse large datasets, using common statistical packages including SAS and SPSS and geographical information systems.
  4. Demonstrated ability to critically assess, including interpret and evaluate information within a health related context.
  5. Experience in the application of evidence and research to develop performance indicators, determine priorities and inform policy.
  6. Outstanding verbal and oral communication skills, including oral presentations, written reports, briefings and publications.
  7. Demonstrated ability to set and meet deadlines.
  8. High level ability to collaborate and work with multidisciplinary teams of professionals both within and outside of health.
