Alfred Health provides health care to inner southeast Melbourne and specialist services to Victoria and beyond incorporating The Alfred, and Caulfield and Sandringham Hospitals. Alfred Health’s surgical program is the best performing and most extensive specialist program in Victoria including a number of statewide services such as trauma, burns and heart and lung transplantation.

As Clinical Service Director (CSD), Surgical Services you will have operational responsibility for all of Alfred Health’s surgical program covering both The Alfred and Sandringham Hospital.

As the senior nurse, you will work in close partnership with the Clinical Program Director, senior surgeons, anaesthetists and managers to lead the surgical program to consistently deliver high quality, cost effective services for our patients and to provide strategic nursing leadership to consistently deliver a high standard of nursing care for all patients.

• Providing high-quality patient-centred care
• Meeting key financial and quality performance targets
• Leadership and management accountability to key stakeholders
• Providing a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and visitors
• Risk assessment and management
• Commitment to the highest standards of governance and probity
• Ensuring al operations are in accordance with Victorian and Federal standards

To be considered for the role of Clinical Services Director you will require

• Current AHPRA registration (Nursing)
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex settings.
• Master’s degree in Health care or business management (or working towards)
• Proven expertise in managing complex organisational change processes, preferably within the Health care sector.
• Demonstrated ability in strategic and operational planning.
