Opportunity exists for Health Professionals or Senior Psychologists to join our newly formed Youth Drug and Alcohol Service based from Brookvale Community Health Centre.

What you'll be doing The purpose of the Youth Drug and Alcohol Allied Health Professional is to provide comprehensive assessment and holistic support throughout a patient's episode of care. The Youth Drug and Alcohol Allied Health Professional is a niche role requiring a high level of skill and expertise with respect to Youth with Drug and Alcohol issues and their families.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Allied Health Counselling or Psychology. Senior Psychologists must have a three year degree in psychology with a fourth year honours in psychology. For Social Work, experience as a Level 2 clinician and eligibility for membership of AASW. Occupational Therapist must have current AHPRA registration and experience as a Level 2 clinician. Counsellors must have experience as a Level 2 clinician.
  2. Demonstrated current clinical knowledge and experience to effectively manage clinical issues in the assessment and treatment of young people with drug & alcohol problems.
  3. Demonstrated experience and advanced clinical expertise and knowledge in comprehensive psychosocial assessments, counselling and therapeutic interventions, complex clinical casework, advocacy and discharge planning.
