Position overview & purpose

The Vaccination Project Manager sits within the Services Network, the primary purpose of this position is to develop and maintain a high functioning, well-informed vaccination service that follows best practice standards and supports the local community to get vaccinated.

This position is either on a maximum-term part-time basis (0.8 FTE minimum) or a maximum-term full-time basis.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide immunisation services and ensure that nursing duties are carried out in accordance with regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Develop Policy and Procedures that are in line with local legislation and follow best practice standards
  • Ensure supply and logistics of consumables and vaccine are available and cost-effective
  • Attend governance meetings and provide feedback and reporting to cohealth Executive
  • Train and induct new staff members
  • Conduct immunisations in accordance with the Department of Health and Human Resources
  • Provide client education and support regarding Covid Vaccination and aftercare
  • As required, supervise immunisation sessions and ensure that all activities related are undertaken in accordance with all relevant guidelines
  • Carry out administration duties associated with the role to ensure records are accurately maintained
  • Undertake triage and screening of clients to ensure appropriate care
  • Provide care and treatment as required including management of acute illness and referral/transport for tertiary care
  • Maintain knowledge, skills, qualifications, accreditations and registration through participation in professional development activities
  • Carry out duties in a manner that does not adversely affect the health and safety of others by reporting all incidents and injuries as well as cooperating with any measures introduced in the workplace to improve Work Health & Safety (WHS)
  • Perform all other duties as directed, within the limits of skills, competence and training to maximise flexibility and effectiveness
  • Comply and adhere to all cohealth policies and procedures including code of conduct and values

Key selection criteria:

  • Nurse Immuniser with minimum 6 months experience with the adult population
  • Leadership qualities including supervision of staff and multi-site management experience
  • Agility, flexibility and the ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment
  • An understanding of project management concepts and developing new services
  • Infectious diseases qualifications or experience in the use of PPE would be well regarded
  • Experience in working with diverse communities and providing social and mental health support
