About the role

The Allied Health Assistant role supports the Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology teams in delivering fun, motivating, and effective virtual and centre-based Exercise evidence-based groups.

Allied Health Assistants work alongside our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists to manage clients with various medical conditions, disabilities, older people and their carers. Care is provided utilising appropriate evidenced-based interventions. This includes a focus on educating and empowering clients to adopt self-management strategies to improve their health underpinned by health literacy principles.

Your daily duties will vary but your main focus will include:

  • Direct care services
  • Health education & promotion
  • Quality improvement
  • Administration responsibilities
  • Team & policy development

Who are we looking for?

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or other relevant qualifications.
  • Experience in delivering community-based multi-disciplinary and outreach Allied Health Assistant services and/or demonstrated experience working effectively with marginalised communities and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in facilitating exercise groups and programs.
  • Knowledge and skills in program planning, implementation and evaluation.
  • Commitment to professional development and quality improvement.
  • Well-developed computer skills and a current drivers license.
