AOD Intake, Assessment and Recovery Clinician

  • Full-time, Maximum term position until December 2023
  • $39.26 - $42.25 hourly rate depending on Grade and Experience + Super + Salary Packaging

About the role

This position sits within the AOD and Homelessness Cluster which aims to improve the health, wellbeing, housing, and social outcomes of people who use alcohol and other drugs and/or those experiencing homelessness in the Inner Northwest of Melbourne.

The role will predominately perform intake responsibilities with the AOD Treatment Services Team and undertake comprehensive AOD Assessments to provide interventions for individuals experiencing issues relating to alcohol and other drugs, and mental health.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Provide high quality engagement during the intake process priority access for ‘complex' clients
  • Liaise with team regarding care planning, referrals, and approaches for crisis intervention management
  • Perform complete comprehensive AOD Assessments of clients using the Victorian AOD Comprehensive Assessment Tool in appropriate timeframes
  • Utilise the Penelope Portal - to receive and provide information regarding client referrals
  • Participate in organisational Quality Assurance activities

Position Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Social Work or Nursing
  • Minimum two years' experience working in the AOD sector
  • Proven skills in the application of intake, assessment, case coordination, and the development of individual treatment plans
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and conflicting tasks
