Tissue Culture Technician
CSIRO Agriculture and Food is seeking a motivated Tissue Culture Technician to work in the area of plant biotechnology in the Legume Engineering Team. You will join a group of highly motivated researchers led by Dr Jose Barrero and Dr TJ Higgins working on cowpea improvement using gene technology.
As the successful candidate, you will mainly be involved primarily in tissue culture and also in some molecular work and glasshouse activities. You will work on an externally funded Gates Foundation RIPE project on photosynthetic improvement and an AATF (African Agricultural Technology Foundation) project on insect resistant cowpea. Both projects focus on generating improved transgenic cowpea, a staple crop of sub-Saharan Africa.
