The Australian e-Health Research Centre (AEHRC) is CSIRO’s national digital health research program, enabling the digital transformation of healthcare to improve services and clinical treatment for Australians and beyond. They are actively seeking a Senior Research Scientist within its Health Services group.
As a Senior Research Scientist, you’ll be responsible for engaging with a variety of clinical, engineering, and research stakeholders to establish and deliver a wide range of innovative virtual care solutions to support health care delivery and health management.  

What is so exciting about this role? The primary focus of this role will be to undertake the design, implementation, and evaluation of digital health platforms and their components and/or integration and it’ll also require building relationships and maintaining collaborations with external clinical partners and providing support to the Health Services Group of the AEHRC. If you are passionate about research and would like to explore within your domain innovative solutions, you’ll have the independence to contribute to AEHRC’s mission.

Your duties will include:

  • Designing and validating innovative digital tools in health monitoring and management 
  • Developing projects in areas such as acute or community care, aged care and disability care 
  • Ensuring timely and successful delivery on key milestones of internally and externally funded projects
  • Establishing and progressing research innovation of digital health platforms independently
  • Finding and securing funding to support and supplement research activities 
  • Facilitating project management of research projects from conception to completion
  • Publishing research results and presenting findings at conferences and meetings. 
  • Leading, supervising and mentoring staff to successfully deliver research projects

Salary: 
 AU$117k – AU$138k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • A PhD (or an equivalent combination of qualifications and research experience) in relevant areas such as public health, mHealth, implementation science, or similar.
  • Prior knowledge of clinical care delivery and skills in technology-based clinical application and physiological monitoring
  • Prior knowledge of research project management including project administration (ethical clearance, contract agreement, budgets, and data management)
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing human participant trials, including ethical conduct in human research
  • Proven record of science innovation and creativity plus the ability & willingness to incorporate novel ideas and approaches into scientific investigations
