Full time, Fixed Term (3 Year)

Responsible for state-wide provision of forensic mental health services, Forensicare assesses and treats individuals with serious mental illness presenting in the criminal justice system.

About the role:

The ED, Prison Operations is a member of the executive management team and will report to the CEO in managing the work we undertake in prisons. The role will require leadership to drive the further development of prison services within the organisation’s and Government’s strategic framework. It will support integration with other Forensicare service components as we work towards the commissioning of the forensic mental health service in the prison to be built at Ravenhall.

Skills and experience:

• 5 or more years’ experience at a senior level in managing and leading staff in the Health or Mental Health sector.
• Strong leadership capabilities with effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to enhance the delivery of forensic mental health prison services.
• High level understanding of mental health services in the criminal justice system.
• Demonstrated financial and budget management skills.
• High level negotiation skills & well developed political awareness.
