About Forensicare 

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.
 

These positions are located at the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) in Clifton Hill, 15 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD. CFMHS is a specialist state-wide agency that works with individuals who have a serious mental health illness and have offended, or are at risk of offending.

About the role:

1 x Part Time fixed term (12 month’s), working 45 hours per fortnight, 3 days a week

1 x Part Time ongoing, working 60 hours per fortnight, 4 days a week 

The P2 psychologist will provide clinical psychological expertise to the Problem Behavior Program (PBP) at CFMHS and undertake the required responsibilities as a member of the multidisciplinary team.  Psychologists will provide consultancy and advice to other agencies and key stakeholders.  The psychologist may be involved in scholarly writing and research.

Duties: 

  • Provides specialist psychological, psychometric assessments and reports.
  • Provides an advanced range of advice on the management and treatment of complex patient issues to other clinicians.
  • Provides individual and/or group interventions as appropriate.
  • Contributes to patient risk management plans in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. 

 Skills and experience:

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Psychologists’ Registration Board of Australia.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent
  • Endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by the Psychologists Registration Board of Australia, in the area of clinical psychology.
  • Extensive knowledge of the current psychological approaches in working with mentally, and/or behaviourally or sexually disordered clients in the forensic mental health setting.
