Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.
 
The Mobile Forensic Mental Health Service (MobileFMHS) is a multidisciplinary team that provides specialist mental health assessment and treatment services to prisoners

About the role:

The senior psychologist provides a high level of clinical psychological expertise to clients with mental health issues based at Barwon prison's Management and High Secure Units.  In addition to this, the senior psychologist is responsible for the ongoing development and planning of Forensicare psychological services at Barwon and provides high level consultation and advice on complex clinical matters.

Duties:

  • Provide psychological services across Forensicare’s prison locations
  • Provide a range of psychological services including advice on the management and treatment of complex client issues to other clinicians
  • Specialist psychological assessments and reports where necessary
  • Individual and/or group interventions as appropriate

Skills and experience:

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APS accredited course of equivalent, OR Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent
  • Endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by AHPRA in the area of clinical psychology and/or forensic psychology
  • Listed as a registered supervisor (or eligible for being so listed) with AHPRA
