Division of Tropical Health and Medicine
Through its research, teaching and engagement activities, the Division of Tropical Health and Medicine at James Cook University is at the forefront of improving health in rural, remote, Indigenous and tropical communities within Australia and world-wide.
Molecular & Cell Biology at JCU offers a world-class education in Biochemistry, Genetics (including Evolutionary Genetics), Genomics, Cell Biology and Molecular Biology with defined course structures within the B.Biomed.Sc. and B.Sc. and B.Sc. (Advanced) programs. The Department also teaches cell biology and molecular genetics into medical, pharmacy and veterinary courses.
Your role
As an accomplished professional in your field, you will take responsibility for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research programs in Molecular Biology at JCU, as well as contribute to outreach activities.
As an experienced educator you will contribute to the development of high quality innovative curricula and develop and/or coordinate teaching offerings in human genetics for undergraduate, postgraduate and/or Continuing Medical Education student’s across JCU’s medical & medical science degrees.
Key to your success will be your ability to obtain research grants and identify promising research topics to establish an active research program in human genetics or genomics and/or molecular cell biology in order to make significant contributions to the Department’s research profile and grow funded research.
