We are seeking an enthusiastic Honours graduate with experience in molecular biology and tissue culture to join the laboratory of Professor Richard Harvey

As a Research Assistant in the Developmental and Stem Cell Biology Division, you will support a dynamic team of scientists studying heart development and stem cells in the mouse model.

This is a maternity leave replacement role and will be available for up to 9 months in a part-time or full-time capacity.

Responsibilities

    • Liaise with research staff to assist in PCR genotyping of a complex stable of genetically modified mice and embryos including online recording of genotyping results.
    • Assist in tissue culture
    • Laboratory management including ordering, order collection, storage maintenance, lab cleaning, maintenance of instruments and freezers
    • Induction of students

Skills Required

All applicants must have attained a BSc with Honours by research thesis or equivalent.

To be considered for this position you will need to have demonstrated experience in the following areas:

    • Molecular biology including PCR
    • Tissue culture
    • Laboratory management
    • Animal handling
