The Role

This newly created role is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to work in a small, friendly team and develop their skills and experience through exposure to all facets of the accounts process.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Accounts payable and expense functions including data processing;
  • Accounts receivable functions;
  • Bank and credit card reconciliation;
  • Assisting with month end and year end processes;
  • Assisting with general ledger reconciliations, preparing journals, accruals, prepayments;
  • Filing;
  • Banking.

About You

You are a team player with excellent communication skills. You are happy working independently but will also enjoy working as part of a team. You enjoy variety and have a “can do” attitude.

We would like to meet you if you have:

  • A minimum Diploma in Accounting;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • Experience in “Great Plains” accounting software;
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.

This is a part-time (15-25 hours per week) contract until 31 December 2019 with the possibility of an extension. Hours can be worked over 2-3 full days or five days within school hours.
