The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute is dedicated to finding cures for cardiovascular disease through world class medical research. The role

Professor Robert M. Graham, Executive Director of the VCCRI and Head, Molecular Cardiology and Biophysics Division, is seeking a highly motivated Post Doctoral Scientist with expertise in cell and molecular biology.

In this role you will drive an exciting new project to understand the cellular phenotype of patients with Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, a potentially fatal but under-diagnosed condition that predominantly affects women.

You will be involved in day-to-day studies of fibroblasts cultured from these patients, as well the generation of induced pluripotent cells (iPSCs) that will be differentiated into various blood vessel lineages and functionally characterised. You will also assist in the preparation of DNA from cells for genome studies.

You will be working within a larger group evaluating other related aspects of cardiac and vascular biology at the cellular and molecular level.
