Auckland DHB (ADHB) and Waitemata DHB (WDHB) have been working collaboratively to achieve a concentration of Facilities and Development (F&D) expertise and the enhancement of F&D capacity and capability across both DHBs through the implementation of a joint F&D team structure. The result is an exciting new service model that has created a number of new “great career step” positions with considerable “scale and scope”.

Reporting directly to the Service GM, this team leadership position has a remit across the entire Auckland and Waitemata DHBs facilities and related engineering projects. Managing the team providing technical engineering support and large scale engineering project management across such a large combined healthcare facilities portfolio has to be one of the pinnacle positions of its kind in the country - offering a highly rewarding and satisfying challenge!

Playing a key role in strategic business planning and improvement, planning, managing and overseeing engineering projects and resource requirements with your team and ensuring project outcomes are delivered to meet DHB services requirements are all fundamental aspects of the position. Building relationships with key portfolio stakeholders across the two DHB’s will also be important.

The successful candidate will possess:

• Substantial technical engineering experience with a track record of success
• Up to date knowledge of all statutory and code requirements
• Relevant professional qualification
• Strong collaboration, communication and negotiation skills
• Well-developed customer service ethos
