Wollongong City Council is looking to bring an authentic, values driven executive leader to it's team to continue to build on it's success. 

This key executive role forms a critical part of the Executive Management Team and is responsible for the effective leadership and management of the Community Services portfolio. This position strategically manages, plans, monitors, evaluates and provides effective governance to all Community Services across the Council.

As a member of the Executive Management Team this role is jointly responsible for the provision of credible leadership, development and maintenance of a high performance culture, strategic planning and organisational decision making, ensuring that the Community Services department supports the strategic direction and mission of the organisation.

Specifically, you will focus on:

  • Leading improvement and ongoing excellence in a range of Community Services to deliver quality customer focused services including:
    • Community, Cultural and Economic Development
    • Commercial Business, Property and Recreation Services
    • Libraries and Community Support
  • Championing Councils Vision, Mission and Values to lead a high performance culture
  • Ensuring consistent prudent procurement processes that deliver effective purchasing and contract performance
  • Focusing on building capability and capacity in our people, systems and resources
