The Allied Health Expansion Program is part of the School of Health Sciences, designed to support the creation of new opportunities to better support the Allied Health labour force needs in Tasmania.

The Opportunity

The School of Health Sciences team is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy to design and deliver core components of our suite of allied health courses, undertake teaching, research, and service activities with a range of disciplines and units.

As part of this key leadership position, the successful candidate will support the Allied Health Expansion Program and broader School, with a teaching focus on Physiotherapy subject areas, and other allied health areas.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Make a contribution to the University in achieving it’s strategic objectives and fulfilling operational responsibilities.
  • Undertake scholarly coursework teaching of a high quality.
  • Provide high quality physiotherapy assessment and intervention for clients.
  • Facilities work-integrated learning (WIL) experience for students.
  • Undertake high-quality research aligned with the School and College strategic plans.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia, under the auspices of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA).
  • Clinical expertise with regency or currency in either: musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory, or neurological physiotherapy practice.
  • Completion of a PhD in a relevant health discipline or equivalent experience.
  • A record of leadership in University-level teaching and learning.
  • A significant record of, and commitment to impactful research that has made contributions to allied health.
  • A record of building and maintaining effective and productive links.

Remuneration

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level D and will have a total remuneration package of up to $180,838 comprising base salary within the range of $142,538 to $154,562 plus 17% superannuation.
