The Opportunity

The Centre for Drug Candidate Optimisation (CDCO) is an internationally recognised collaborative research centre based within the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS). The CDCO provides expertise and infrastructure on absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) properties of lead drug candidates to support drug discovery programs. Drug candidate optimisation fills a crucial gap between discovery and development by integrating medicinal chemistry and biology with the pharmaceutical sciences to provide a rational means of identifying drug candidates suitable for progression into preclinical and clinical development.

The CDCO currently comprises 20 staff and collaborates with numerous commercial, not for profit and academic drug discovery groups. As the successful applicant, you will join a dedicated and vibrant team of bioanalytical and biopharmaceutical scientists. For more information, visit: platforms.monash.edu/cdco/

Applications are sought for a Research Officer in the Bioanalytical Section of the CDCO, to work within a flexible team of scientists in a state-of-the-art LC/MS facility. The successful applicant will be responsible for bioanalytical method development incorporating biological sample preparation and quantitative analysis using LC/MS-MS, method troubleshooting, developing standard operating procedures, and data analysis. This role will also include instrument management and coordination, and resource planning in conjunction with the Bioanalytical Section Leader.

Applicants should hold a degree with honours or equivalent experience in Analytical Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Science, and extensive first-hand experience in biological sample preparation and bioanalytical method development using LC/MS.

If you have the background to undertake this role, we welcome your application. This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.

All applicants must possess the right to work in Australia to be considered.

Your application must address the selection criteria. Please refer to "How to apply for Monash Jobs"
