Technical Officer 

  • Provide high level technical support to researchers
  • Analyses of multi-modal MRI data including pre-processing and post-processing
  • Part Time, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with an anticipated end date of December 2019

The research activities of staff relate to three overlapping areas of strength: (i) cognition and applied cognitive neuroscience; (ii) developmental and educational psychology, and (iii) clinical and health psychology and the School has a number of leading researchers of international profile in these areas. The research quality in Psychology at ACU is ranked well above world standard.

As Technical Officer you will:

  • set-up automated pipelines/workflows of pre-/post- processing of MRI data in various systems
  • computer programming (C++, matlab, python, E-Prime and related applications)
  • provide technical advice, expertise and value-add to the development and maintenance of research procedures
  • provide training and support for the use of technical equipment and MRI scanning techniques.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • completion of an undergraduate qualification with relevant research experience in a relevant field
  • computer programming experience with MATLAB, Python, C C++ or similar.
  • experience with experimental design and programming software (E-Prime, Presentation)
  • familiarity with data analysis and statistical methods in psychology/cognitive neuroscience or related fields.

Total remuneration valued to $82,732 pa, (pro rata) including salary component $75,727 pa,(pro rata)  (Higher Education Worker Level 6), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
