The University of Auckland's Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry.

The opportunity

This half-time academic position will ideally be combined with a half-time clinical component, tailored to the successful candidate, and will ideally suit and be a great opportunity for an experienced enthusiastic psychiatrist who wants to combine a clinical appointment with a university career.

This role is particularly suitable for an early to mid-career academic psychiatrist, and we would be particularly interested in someone interested in research with and for indigenous people. Training in forensic psychiatry would be a particular advantage, although other sub-specialities will also be considered.

Candidates must hold a medical qualification registrable in New Zealand, and must have a higher qualification in psychiatry equivalent to the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP). You must also be eligible for vocational registration by the Medical Council of New Zealand as a Specialist Psychiatrist, and have experience in research and ideally hold an MD/PhD or equivalent.

This position will suit a psychiatrist who work works well in team situations, and who has experience in clinical research.
