About the job:

  • The Rural Allied Health Educator positions will join the Allied Health Directorate, providing key strategic work for Allied Health across our District. They will be supported by the Northern Professional Leads and the University Department of Rural Health (UDRH) team to provide support to undergraduate students and early career professionals. Orientation and training support provided by UDRH and the Allied Health Professional Educators network (AHPEN) will help consolidate the skills required to successfully undertake the role.
  • The successful candidate will work with key internal and external stakeholders to build capacity for rural sites to host undergraduate student placements across the New England region and support early career clinicians and sole practitioners to develop the required skills to safely undertake their role. The candidate will support the Allied Health Directorate team to undertake strategic initiatives to support the development of a rural workforce pipeline.
  • The Successful candidate will work remotely with the Workforce, Professional Development and Education Portfolio within the Allied Health Directorate and work closely with the University Department of Rural Health (UDRH). The successful candidate will be joined by 6 other clinicians across the state, and a Speech Pathologist Educator to collaborate with.

Our successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Strong Communication skills, ability to manage multiple demands, leadership and strategic thinking.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of education programs.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational skills including the ability to work resourcefully and flexibly when managing competing demands and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, negotiation and networking skills with evidence of ability to build and maintain co-operative professional relationships.
